Business Consultation Email List for Professionals
Join your colleagues who are developing sources of income. *PsyBUS* is designed to network psychotherapists and coaches in the increasingly challenging environment of private practice. Using the technology of the Internet, our mission is to facilitate a mutually beneficial discussion among practicing professionals interested in the development and marketing of products and services. There are no fees to join or participate. This is a non-commercial list for the discussion of commercial issues.
PsyBUS was developed to move us in the direction of developing the business side of our work. Most of us were not given the opportunity to learn business skills in our training. PsyBUS subscribers, then, are invited to discuss the development and marketing of income sources using communication technologies, including the Internet, telephone and videoconferencing equipment. Subscribers exchange suggestions, expertise, mistakes, successes, and ideas about developing mental-health related products and services on and off the Net.

Advertisements - SERIOUS ISSUE
Psychotherapy product developers, private practitioners and coaches are invited to post their advertisements on this list with the condition that their content be open to comment from other subscribers. This will be clearly differentiated from *spamming or soliciting.*
Since most of us did not go to business school, allowing us to critique the design, layout, copy, and marketing approach exemplified by the ad will help illustrate issues worthy of discussion. We can learn the "business" of earning a living by actively critiquing each other's advertisements, as long as we are posting them to the list with a request for critique.
If an ad is not accompanied by a specific and detailed request for critique, the ad will be considered spam, off topic and the subscriber will be subject to being placed on moderated status. He or she may even be permanently barred from the list entirely. This has already happened to several dozen previous subscribers, so do not take this warning lightly. We will not tolerate your sending advertisements to this group. We all get enough spam and don't need more of it from within our own ranks.
