Asking Personal Questions:

I wish I had time to help everyone who writes to me.

I simply don't, and I also don't believe that the Internet with its present limitations is the proper place for most professionals (including coaches) to deal with serious problems.

If it were all that easy, you must know that we'd already have dozens of insurance companies pressuring us to deliver our services online. They've tried, and they've ALL failed.  Why?? I've written books about this, so let me point you in their direction for those serious answers.

How to Think About Your Personal Problem and Get Help

If something is serious enough to warrant a professional's time, find a local professional who will get know you before offering to help you "change your life".

I wish it weren't so complicated…it would be great to know how to tell everyone in the world how to run their lives without even knowing them…but I haven't achieved those God-like abilities yet…has anyone else??

A question might sound simply enough to answer quickly on a website, but it rarely is. Let me give you an example. Many people write to me and ask things like, "My six year old is being sexually inappropriate in his class and his teacher complaining. What should I do??"

I know they are sincere, but I need to know a lot more about that child, that family, other kids in that class and that teacher. Here are just a few things I'd want to know about the child. Has he:

  • been watching sexually-oriented, sexually explicit television, movies, MTV
  • been in the room watching Mommy and Daddy being intimate
  • been molested, and if so, how, when , how many times?
  • found Daddy's stash of porn videos, hidden under the truck seat
  • and a dozen other possible influences…

Seriously, if you've been wrestling with a problem for years, or months, or even a week, around and around in your head, and are unable to resolve it, how can a few paragraphs describing your problem give me enough information to tell you anything different than what you've already considered? Life just isn't that easy.  If a professional offers you that kind of service in email or their "secured website", RUN AWAY!

What We CAN Do To Help You Here

If you just have a regular problem that you want others to give you feedback about, drop into our 24/7 FREE Community Forums and see what others have to say. You might be shocked at how helpful they can be! And you will probably notice that oftentimes, they come back and ask you more questions before someone gives an answer that truly helps. Rarely does someone drop a question and get a 100% perfect answer. Why? The question is not detailed enough. Look around and you'll see exactly what I mean.

If you want immediate help, use the "search" field you will see on every page. Type the topic you want to investigate. You will most likely find a few dozen previous visitors who came here and discussed the very same problem, along with a ton of great suggestions. Hang in there for a hour and you will probably read more than you ever imagined!

Answer some of those posts, click the box that asks us to send you email whenever someone new comments back, and you will get email telling you where to click in the email to get someone's latest response to you. How is that for a cool, free service??  This is all available to you for free! Just click on here for that 24/7 SHM Community Forum.

Also, you might read anyone of our thousands of articles, written mostly my licensed professionals.

Purpose of this Blog Page

So now that I've explained why I can't use text on a screen to deliver what might seem like easy answers to simple" questions typed to me, please allow me tell you want I CAN do :-)

I am delighted to tell you anything about this publication, what we are doing, want to do, and are planning to do. Ask me anything you like about the magazine and I will do my best to answer you right here in this BLOG!
