Our Pains Are Like Stones Thrown into a Pond

SO, I am VERY HAPPY to see that you end your thoughts with "I hope with time this pain will go away forever…..I'll be able to trust and love again." IMHO and experience, the pain will subside with time. I heard a poet once describe our pains as like stones thrown into a pond; at first they make a big splash and cause ripples of waves to reverberate across the water. Then the stone sinks to the bottom and the water calms. The stone (and pain) remains in the pond (and in us) and is a part of the pond (and ourselves) but it is no longer causing a "storm" on the surface.
And IMHO we learn from our painful experiences. I do think it's important to be conscious of and make a conscious decision NOT to allow oneself to become untrusting or bitter. It is a choice. That is why I am so happy to hear those hopeful words at the end of your post.

Gee, I had a similar experience when I went by a place in the woods and saw a mound of rocks. When I got closer, there was a sign that said, "This is a sacred place. It is a place to leave burdens that are on your heart. If you have a burden that you would like to leave here, please find a rock and put it on the mound." It was a very beautiful experience and I go there often.
