"Domestic Commando: A Stay at Home (R)evolution"
By Anmarie Bowden

Domestic Commando
by:Toni Garcia Carpenter
ISBN-10: 0982161220
When the publisher said she wanted to send me this book, I got
really excited, being a work-from-home-mom myself, I knew I was going to enjoy
this one! This book is a handbook for parents that empowers them to feel
confident to do the best they can for their families.
I really enjoyed the tone of this book, my father is retired
military and so the author's references to being a commando, feeding the troops
on the home front, and strategic principles for tactical operations felt like
home to me (the humor is great too!)
One of my favorite quotes in the book is "There was a time when
staying at home to personally raise your children was a no-brainer, but
somehow, over the past four decades, it became equated with having no brains."
Yet, Carpenter doesn't pass judgment on others who prefer or need to work
outside the home. She is, however, adamant that parents who stay at home,
deserve no less respect than any other.
Through this book, Domestic Commandos realize they can have it
all, just maybe not all at the same time. The mission here is to help parents
gain self-confidence while accepting that there is no such creature as a
perfect parent. However, we should at least get points for trying our
best. There really is no one more
qualified to raise your children besides you!
