Best Depression Treatment? Take a Courageous Stance

Question: I am wondering what is the best depression treatment. Would something like Zoloft for depression or panic make me a weaker or stronger person?

I don't believe that Zoloft has the power to do either. What the medication may do is correct a physiological imbalance in your body. It won't help you with how you view yourself because of these problems.

I think it takes great courage to face depression or panic with or without Zoloft! Perhaps you judge yourself otherwise. Psychotherapy, with or without medication, is recommended to help with this.

What Zoloft can't give you is a stance that you can take in relationship to depression or panic. As psychiatrist Viktor Frankl points out, while we don't always have a choice about circumstances in our lives, we do have a choice with regards to how we view such circumstances.

Therein is where we find true strength. Appropriate depression treatment will lead you to a higher sense of self.
