MARC D. FELDMAN, M.D.

Marc D. Feldman, M.D. is Vice Chair for Clinical Services and Director of the Division of Adult Psychiatry within the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurobiology at the University of Alabama, Birmingham (UAB). He is also Medical Director of the UAB Center for Psychiatric Medicine and Professor of Psychiatry.

Dr. Feldman is the co-author of the books Patient or Pretender: Inside the Strange World of Factitious Disorders (John Wiley & Sons, 1995), The Spectrum of Factitious Disorders (American Psychiatric Press, 1996), and Stranger Than Fiction: When Our Minds Betray Us (American Psychiatric Press, 1998). He has appeared on "Larry King Live," "Good Morning America," "20/20," "Dateline," and many other television and radio programs. Dr. Feldman's work has been the subject of articles in newspapers such as the New York Times, USA Today, the Los Angeles Times, the Chicago Tribune, the Toronto Star, and the Times of London, and in magazines such as Psychology Today, and Self. He has received the Exemplary Psychiatrist Award of the National Alliance for Mentally Ill and is included in the national edition of The Best Doctors in America. He is a summa cum laude graduate of Dartmouth College and Dartmouth Medical School, and completed his residency at Duke University Medical Center.
